How to Finish the Octopath Traveler 2 ‘Utterly Exhausted’ Side Story

If you start with Throne in Octopath Traveler 2, then one of the first side stories you’ll probably add to your list is “Utterly Exhausted.” However, it involves heading all the way to the opposite continent to get an unusual “stone” for the Exhausted Man. Not to mention, you don’t even know what town or area that item might be in. However, once you find it, the quest is easy to complete.

After talking to the Exhausted Man in New Delsta, the one standing near the person selling crepes, you’ll need to head to Crackridge. There will be a Suspicious Merchant in the center of town during the day. If you go into his inventory, you can buy, steal, or attack him for his Miraculous Stone. I used a level 30 Throne to steal it from him, and had no trouble getting it.

Head back to New Delsta with it and talk to the Exhausted Man again. After he gets it, it turns out it really will perform a “miracle.” The Octopath Traveler 2 “Utterly Exhausted” side story will be done, and you’ll get 6,000 leaves and a Dragon’s Scarf for your efforts.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available.
