How to Finish the ‘Waiting All Day and Night’ Octopath Traveler 2 Side Story

Okay. The Octopath Traveler 2 “Waiting All Day and Night” side story is a tricky one. However, it’s also so obvious that you might not catch what’s going on unless you’re incredibly observant. In Canalbrine, you happen upon person waiting for their sibling outside the tavern. They seem to be there all day and all night. However, if you pay close attention, you’ll see what’s going on and can solve this quest in basically seconds.

How to Finish the ‘Waiting All Day and Night’ Octopath Traveler 2 Side Story
Make sure someone who can recruit an NPC is in your party. This could be Ochette, who could Befriend the Waiting Youth with three Jerky, or Temenos who could guide him. The trick here is that you may notice that the outfit the character wears, the hair style, as well as whether or not you’ve gotten information out of him, changes depending on the time of the day.

So, say you have Ochette Befriend the Waiting Youth at night like I did. Then immediately change to the day. Talk to the person at the table. This will complete the side story “Waiting All Day and Night” in Octopath Traveler 2. You’ll get 3,000 leaves, a Magic Nut, and an Empowering Lychee.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available.
