How to Fix Broken Bridges in Unicorn Overlord

Fairly early on in Unicorn Overlord, you’ll learn there are broken bridges in the overworld that, if you can fix them, lead to new areas. However, you need to get a certain character in your army to accomplish that task.

How do I fix the broken bridges in Unicorn Overlord?

So the first broken bridge you’ll happen upon is east of Fort Thessalon, not far from Ouvir Harbor and Coquillage Town. If you have Alain investigate, you’ll be told you need to come back with the right resources, basically. Well, I hope you spared Mordon in The Battle for Barbatimo, because you need his help for this task. If you didn’t spare him, then you need to wait until Kitra joins your army as part of the story.

First, you may need to recruit Mordon to start the task of repairing a bridge. Because of the nature of the defenses he has set up in town, you need to have recruited a character like Yahna or Auch. Their magic is critical to breaking through and reaching Mordon. Upon fighting him, which should honestly also involve a unit with a mage or magical assistance and not a group with Hodrick in it, you’ll trigger the typical scene where Alain meets the fallen commander. A town girl will plead for his life. 

If you agree to spare Mordon, instead of execute him, you’ll learn he’s talented at repairing bridges and rebuilding towns. The game will then bring up a tutorial message confirming yes, you can now fix broken bridges in Unicorn Overlord because Mordon is on your side.

Fast travel to Fort Thessalon at that point when he’s in your army. Head east and examine the bridge. Mordon will now appear alongside Alain when you do and let you know which materials you’ll need for that repair. You’ll then get a quest tied to it if you don’t have the materials right away.
