Where to find the Art of Metamorphosis in Dragon’s Dogma 2 – location

Highly coveted and also extremely rare, this item allows you to change your appearance outside of the usual affair. Through the use of The Art of Metamorphosis, players can entirely change the appearance of either their character or their Pawn. This includes facial structure, gender, race, voice, etc. However, because of how extensively this item allows you to change your appearance, only a few of them actually exist in the game.

During my playthrough, I was only ever able to get a total of two The Art of Metamorphosis. In New Game Plus, the item repopulates. But as far as I know, you can only ever obtain two per playthrough. The Art of Metamorphosis can be found in Vernworth where the main Riftstone is. There is an NPC just to the left of it you can speak to where you can purchase The Art of Metamorphosis for 500 RC a piece.

This means it will cost 1,000 RC total for both books. You only need one book to edit the appearance of either yourself or your Pawn. The second book can be saved for future cosmetics, or if you choose to edit your Pawn or yourself again. Unfortunately, this is the only location I was able to find the book, and yeah, it cost a lot of RC!

Again, I only ever managed to get my hands on a total of two copies of the book, and I played for roughly 60 hours before reaching New Game+. So, you will really need to think carefully before using this book as you only have two chances to make major changes to your character’s appearance.

How to use Art of Metamorphosis in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Once you get your hands on this rare item, you will need to know where to use it. To use the Art of Metamorphosis in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to visit a Salon in major cities such as Vernworth Capital. Speak to the stylist NPC, who offers a service to change your hairstyle and makeup. At the bottom of her menu should be the “Change Appearance” option, which requires an Art of Metamorphosis.

Once you select this you will be taken to the full character creator menu again. Thankfully, you can back out of this at any time without using up the rare book. Which means if you decide to not change your appearance during the creation process you can just cancel out and The Art of Metamorphosis will remain in your inventory until you finalize those changes.
