How to Get the Glimmering Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Glimmering Charm is the ultimate reward you can unlock in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask. You might be unfamiliar with this brand new charm, since it differs from the Experience Charm, Shiny Charm, and others that are more prevalent in the series.

How to Unlock the Glimmering Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To unlock the Glimmering Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to complete a very important milestone in The Teal Mask DLC. You must catch a grand total of 200 Pokemon in the DLC, including all of the returning and new Pokemon, in the Kitakami Pokedex.

The Kitakami region in The Teal Mask has its own Pokedex with 200 Pokemon in total, half of the Pokedex for Paldea. You have to catch, not see, all of the Pokemon there are to get this charm. This even includes the new Pokemon like Ogerpon and Bloodmoon Ursaluna, who already requires you to get more than 150 Pokemon.

Once you meet this elusive milestone, you’ll want to find Professor Jacq just east of Mossui Town. Speak with him and show the professor your Pokedex to obtain the Glimmering Charm. If you haven’t already spoken with him before, you’ll also get a special egg with a randomly-generated Generation 4 starter in it.

If Jacq doesn’t show up here, look for him in his classroom in the Paldea academy.

What the Glimmering Charm Does

The new Glittering Charm offers players a simple bonus of more Tera Shards for every raid battle they do in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Tera Shards are necessary for letting your Pokemon switch Tera types. Since you only get a handful per raid battle, this charm is excellent for those who want to speed up the grinding process. This is the ultimate reward for the completionists out there.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available now on Nintendo Switch. The second DLC, The Indigo Disk, releases in Winter 2023.
