How to Get the Gold Dance in FFXIV

Final Fantasy XIV has plenty of different dance emotes for players to unlock during their time in Eorzea. One of the most sought-after and enjoyable dance emotes is the Gold Dance in FFXIV. There is only one way to unlock this emote, and we have your back for how to get it fast.

How to Get Ballroom Etiquette The Gold Dance in FFXIV

Unfortunately, the Ballroom Etiquette book for the Gold Dance in this game can only be found in one place: the Gold Saucer. You can get this move by heading to the Gold Saucer Attendant NPC at the following exact location:

  • Gold Saucer (Thanalan): X: 5.1, Y: 6.6

There, you are able to find the Gold Dance as one of the possible rewards. It costs a whopping 80,000 MGP, though, if you want to unlock it. That is quite a lot, especially for a newcomer in this MMORPG. But it might be worth it for this bombastic dance number that makes you look like a star.

How to Earn MGP Faster in the Gold Saucer

The key to unlocking the Gold Dance in FFXIV is the MGP. Since you can’t buy this dance book off of the Market Board, you’ll need to earn this special currency yourself. There are quite a lot of ways to earn MGP in the Gold Saucer, so definitely do your dailies and weekly objectives like the Mini Cactpot and weekly lottery ticket.

In addition, I highly recommend doing the weekly Fashion Report as well. If you get 80 points or higher each week, you’ll get 60,000 MGP. That is already 75% of the way to your goal for the Gold Dance. You can get the remaining money through GATEs, Chocobo racing, and the like.

Final Fantasy XIV is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
