Where to get the Marcher’s Armor set in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are actually two sets of this armor available early on, as soon as you reach the city of Vernworth. The first method is to follow the quest “Seat of the Sovran” until you meet with Captain Brant, who will then give you the quest “Disa’s Plot” if you ask about the Regent. Upon gaining this quest, you must wait until nightfall and head up to Vernworth Castle, where a guard will greet you and lead you to a newly unlocked guardhouse.

Once inside, the chest should be a little way in and will shine, so it should be easy enough to find even without a lantern. The only item missing will be the cape, the Expeditioner’s Cloak, which you can receive as a reward for completing the Disa’s Plot quest. Simply follow the quest marker further into the palace for a conversation, then return to Captain Brant to turn it in.

Getting the Marcher’s Armor set even earlier.

The second way to obtain this armor, or to obtain a second set, is available even without accepting the quests from Brant. Instead, simply head up to the courtyard of Vernworth Castle and take a left until you reach the Gaol Tower. Right in front of the tower will be a well, climb down and you’ll find the armor in a chest, cape and all.

In case you get lost, here’s a map with both the well and guardhouse marked in red.

While you don’t need it, the Marcher’s Armor Set can help you easily complete story missions such as the “The Caged Magistrate” quest. Equipping the guard’s attire makes it easier to sneak into the Gaol or the Vernworth Castle without raising any suspicions. If nothing else, the armor also just looks really cool and is free.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is immediately available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
