Lego Fortnite Move Objects explained

First and foremost, let’s rip the bandaid off right now. The Lego Fortnite move objects feature is extremely limited. As a result, you aren’t able to easily move stuff around in the sandbox mode. For the most part, once you place a shack, house, bed, or anything else down, it is pretty much there permanently. There is, unfortunately, no menu where you can edit an object, rotate it after its placement, or move it to another spot.

This is potentially because of this game’s inspiration, Minecraft, where you also don’t have that feature either. However, what makes this whole situation weird is that most of the buildings players make have set blueprints. As such, you would think you could edit them after the fact. Perhaps this will be a feature down the line, but it isn’t the case now. However, there is a workaround to this, which isn’t ideal, which we will explain below.

How do I move objects in Lego Fortnite?

So, what if you want to move an object’s location or rotate it after you complete its construction? Unfortunately, the only way to move objects in Lego Fortnite is to destroy them.

With that said, here is how to move objects in Lego Fortnite:

  • Use your Pickaxe and manually destroy the building, furniture, or object you want to be moved.
  • After destroying the object, pick up the building materials that are now in the overworld.
  • Find the new place you want to place the object and rebuild it with the materials you just picked up.
  • Unfortunately, this is the only solution currently in Lego Fortnite.

This does mean you’ll have to go through the entire process of reconstructing it and then placing it in the new location. The positive is you at least have the option to put it in the right location now and you do have a rotation feature when you first put it down.

You can rotate the object on controller using the left and right bumpers above the triggers. Just make sure to love the building or furniture’s new location this time so you don’t have to go through all this trouble again.

Lego Fortnite is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices.
