In most cases in Octopath Traveler 0, when you find a possible ally, asking the character to join your party is as simple as talking to them and perhaps running a very quick errand to recruit them, but Alexia is a little different. She’s going to be the first Scholar you encounter and recruit and a pretty helpful initial mage. But when you first talk to her, she’ll rule out joining the party and the special bubble over her head that would normally suggest she’s recruitable disappears. How do you get her?

How do I recruit Alexia in Octopath Traveler 0?

Alexia is honestly one of the fastest character processes in Octopath Traveler 0. You just need to use the Entreat Path Action to get some research she’s written when she’s in the library in Theatropolis that to the west on the level just below the town’s theater. While her recruit bubble won’t be over her head, use Entreat to take Liber Magicae Alexiae. It has a 100% success rate of being taken.

When you do grab it, you’ll start a conversation in which she’ll be pleasantly surprised by your keen eye and talk about her studies. After this little talk, she’ll offer to join your party. Absolutely agree. She’ll be a staff and tome wielder, which covers two handy weaknesses. Her magical spells will also be lightning and darkness-based, and she’ll be able to use the Analyze skill to help you pin down more enemy weaknesses.

Octopath Traveler 0 is available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
