- In Chapter 2: A New Journey Begins, speak to Aerith in Kalm after Cloud wakes up in the Inn.
- Choose: “Sure, let’s.”
- Agree to go “on a date” with Aerith at the Clocktower. Make sure to speak to her before Shinra shows up in Kalm and pushes you into the Grasslands.
- Complete “Flowers from the Hill” side quest in the Grasslands.

After Cloud wakes up, you will want to find Aerith in Kalm and agree to go on a date with her to the Clocktower. The next major hurdle to romance her happens during Chapter 4: Dawn of a New Era. After sneaking into the upper city of Junon, Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa will lead a battalion of Midgar soldiers in a parade for Shinra.
The goal here is to score over 100,000 points to win the Presidential Accommodation from Rufus Shinra. To get the Presidential Accommodation, you will want to use the “Grenadiers,” “Riot Troopers,” and “Flametroopers” in the “Parade Formations” menu. Each of these squads can be found throughout the city. Finally, you will want to score at least 100,000 during the parade mini-game. Cloud’s relationship with Aerith will increase substantially if you win the accommodation with 100,000 points.
The second significant moment is in Chapter 6: Fool’s Paradise. After arriving at Costa del Sol, you will want to match Cloud and Aerith’s “taste” in swimwear. To do this, choose “Wild Surf” for Cloud and “Pink Mermaid” for Aerith.

Junon

So, it’s incredibly important to pick the right dialogue choices and story decisions in the campaign if you want to romance Aerith.
Grasslands
- Flowers from the Hill – Kalm Community Board (found after you progress into the Grasslands and have unlocked your first Chocobo Mount. The quest begins at Bill’s Chocobo Ranch after speaking to Chloe in the farm’s store.)

If you don’t get Aerith as your date at the Gold Saucer, that means you didn’t gain enough bond points with her, or you gained too much affinity for other characters. However, you may still have a chance to fix this! During Chapter 12: The Golden Key, new quests will become available in previous regions. You will also now be able to fast travel to any previous area on the map with the click of a button.
Warp the other regions in the game and complete any incomplete Aerith quests listed in the section above. However, DO NOT complete any other side quests not tied to her, as you are trying to tip the scale in favor of Aerith and not another character (such as Tifa). In my playthrough, I was able to switch my date from Barret to Aerith by traveling to Cosmo Canyon and completing the “Absence of a Sign” quest.
If you cannot get a date with Aerith, no matter what you try, do not panic. After beating the main story, you will unlock a new feature that lets you choose which date you want to bring to the Gold Saucer. You even have the option to choose between “Casual” and “Intimate.”
However, to romance Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it’s key that you pick the correct dialogue choices in any conversation. Because, unlike Tifa or Yuffie, you aren’t given as many quests to raise her bond level.
