InĀ Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, Yuma can take on lots of sidequests and requests from the citizens of the city. There are multiple requests each chapter that will reward him with DP, which you can put towards giving him better skills or stats in the Mystery Labyrinths. The game helpfully marks request NPCs, so you should be able to find them easily. You can also come back to finish up requests after a chapter is over if youāve missed any.
Here are all of the Requests that Yuma can take on in Chapter One of Rain Code:
“Detective Work?”
Youāll get this request as you start to leave the Sun & Moon Hotel in Chapter One. Vivia will ask you to look for The Crow and the Dove: Survival of the Fittest and World Salvation. This is a book that he wants to read. Follow the quest markers all the way to the bookstore and then tell the owner the correct title of the book. Thereās no penalty if you tell him the wrong one except Shinigami calls you stupid.
You can also get a Memory Shard for Vivia here. Itās right by the bookcase in front of the bookstore. After you get the book, go back to the Sun & Moon Hotel and hand it over to Vivia.
“Paired With the Devil”
You can start this request on Montclair Street after you start your investigation into the case with Halara. Your client wants you to give her father a letter about her thoughts regarding her engagement. Her father is in Kanai Station wearing a black suit. Heās talking to someone and is right inside of the station itself. A scene will automatically start as soon as you walk in. After you watch it, the game will teleport you to your client, and then youāre done.
“Snatching the Snatcher”
You can start this quest by talking to the lady standing in the rain in the Kamasaki District. Sheāll ask you to find the guy who took her purse and sheāll give you a description of him. He has a white mask, glasses, a navy jacket, and white pants on. Youāll find a dude matching this description in one of the upper corridors of the Kamasaki District.
“Spirited Away”
Thereās a couple in the Ginma District looking for their lost child. It looks like the kidās been spirited away. Go to the Kamasaki District to gather some clues. Talk to the NPCs that the game marks out for you and then you find out that the kid was seen in the underground passage. After you move forward a bit, youāll see the kid and then a choice pops up for you to choose between yourself or the kid.
No matter what you choose, the kid will be fine. Youāll just see a different ending. However, it appears that if Yuma chooses to prioritize his own safety, he wonāt get any DP because heās a terrible detective.
