How do I unlock the camera in Zenless Zone Zero?

The camera is unlocked in Zenless Zone Zero after completing the main story commission “The Proxy and the Hare.” You’ll have some downtime objectives before the next major commission, during which Bella and Wise will discuss a cat outside on Sixth Street.

This short mission acts as the tutorial for the camera. Follow the instructions to take a picture of the cat to permanently unlock the ability to take photos. However, this ability is exclusive to the Proxy siblings, so it can only be used in Sixth Street and the surrounding areas. You won’t be able to access this in combat.

How do I take pictures in Zenless Zone Zero?

Once you’ve obtained the camera in Zenless Zone Zero, it can be accessed at any time while playing as Bella or Wise. In the bottom right of the screen, the leftmost icon will open a tool menu. Select the aperture icon to open the camera. If you’re using a controller, holding L1/LB will open this menu, otherwise clicking or tapping on it is enough.

In the camera mode, you can aim in first-person mode and take pictures of whatever you choose. Your camera controls are limited, however, as all you can do is hide the UI, re-center your view, zoom and take a shot. You can move around in the camera view, although your walking speed is extremely slow.

When you take a picture, you’ll get to see a preview. Here you can choose to hide your UID and username and then save the image. All pictures will be saved to your local storage, or to the Media Gallery if you’re on PS5.

Zenless Zone Zero is available now on PC, PS5 and mobile devices.
