How to Transfer From Pokemon Home to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

First and foremost, make sure you have Pokemon Home and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet downloaded on your Nintendo Switch. Note that there is a paid subscription for Pokemon Home, but you don’t need it to transfer. Without a subscription, you’re just limited in how many Pokemon you can transfer at once (usually about a box of 30 or so Pokemon).

When you open up Pokemon Home, you’ll have to sign into your account to connect all of your Pokemon games together with the application. At this point, you’ll have instant access to every Pokemon you have caught in the games compatible with Pokemon Home on Nintendo Switch. From there, you simply need to transfer the desired Pokemon from their original games to Pokemon Home itself.

For instance, if you have a Shiny Applin that you want to move out of Pokemon Sword and Shield, make sure it’s in one of your Pokemon Boxes in the game, select the Pokemon option, then Sword or Shield, and then locate the Pokemon in the boxes on the right. When you’re ready, move it to the Pokemon Home box that is on the left side of your screen.

Now the Pokemon is in Pokemon Home. Next, you need to pick Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and move the shiny Applin or whatever Pokemon you want from the left box into one of the boxes on the right in the Generation 9 games. Make sure it doesn’t have a red symbol in the corner, or it is incompatible. When you’re finally done, press the + button to quit and save. Once it’s done saving, you can open up your Pokemon Scarlet and Violet save file, and the transferred Pokemon will be exactly where you placed it in your Pokemon boxes.

Pokemon Home Compatible Games Explained

These are the currently available compatible games with Pokemon Home that you can choose from to transfer Pokemon into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

  • Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield
  • Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
  • Pokemon Legends Arceus
  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and The Teal Mask DLC are available on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk DLC will be released in Winter 2023.
