How to Unlock Newt Plissken in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns

Newt Plissken isn’t one of the more straightforward unlocks in the Vampire Survivors Operation Guns DLC, as you need to collect items in the Neo Galuga stage to acquire him. This means it can take a few runs before you can play as him.

How do I collect Grenades to unlock Newt in the Vampire Survivors Operation Guns DLC?

If you want to play as Newt in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns, you need to collect the Grenades items that can appear during the Neo Galuga level. These can appear randomly or after hitting the floating items. Collecting one deals damage to all on-screen enemies, in my experience wiping them all out.

The thing is, you need to collect 28 of these to unlock Newt. This doesn’t have to happen in a single run, of course. However, they are one of the rarest items to show up during Neo Galuga, so it can take a while! I had to go through four runs before I managed to find 28 of them.

Once you collect 28, the Results screen Achievements will let you know when Newt is unlocked. You can then go to the Character Selection screen and pay 2,601 coins for him. Newt starts with the Diver Mines bombs that drop down below him on-screen. As with Bahamut, Bill, and Lance, surviving a stage with him for 15 minutes unlocks the weapon for all characters as a level-up option.

Vampire Survivors and the Operation Guns DLC are available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices.
