How to unlock Zeki’s Black Market in Palia

Unlocking Zeki’s Black Market, like many things in Palia, takes time. Once you’ve completed the tutorial and are introduced to the affinity system, you can begin working to unlock this special shop that is only available after Zeki closes up his general store. You must also reach Affinity Level 2 with Zeki to unlock the Black Market, which can be done relatively quickly.

The cat loves any seafood, which includes Fresh Oysters, which can be found at Bahari Bay, and even Grilled Fish. Make sure to talk to him daily, as even casually chatting with an NPC will up their affinity slightly. If you want to increase Zeki’s affinity directly, you can give him any of the items listed above. However, asking him what he’s looking for every day will boost his affinity the most. This can be done by clicking the gift icon marked with a question mark on the lower left-hand side of the dialogue box when talking to an NPC.

Zeki will let you know what he wants most, and after giving it to him, you’ll see a significant boost in affinity. Once you’ve reached Affinity Level 2, he’ll send you on a quest to find the Black Market, where he sells items you otherwise can’t get from Tish’s shop. This includes bathtubs, carpets, and paintings. The entrance to the Black Market is found by Remembrance Beach. You can enter the Black Market through the sewer grate, and once it’s sunset, you can begin purchasing items there.

You can see where to find the entrance to the Black Market in the images below:

Palia is available for PC. It will release on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2023.
