Flynn (that’s the default name for the protagonist in Shin Megami Tensei IV) can equip different weapons and armor. The sword Flynn uses does a slash attack when you’re on the field. Dengeki reports, if you switch to a spear and Flynn lunges forward with a thrust.
Armor does more than make Flynn look like a soldier or a knight. The clothes you choose affects Flynn’s five stats – strength, technique, demon, speed, and luck. Technology affects gun attacks and skill. There are four kinds of armor in Shin Megami Tensei IV. Helmets can boost your status, HP or MP. Upper body armor cam boost resistance, HP, or MP. Lower body armor can increase your status, HP or MP. Accessories increase HP, MP or have other special effects.
Shin Megami Tensei IV comes out May 23 in Japan and on July 16 in North America.
