Humans, elves and cat people go to school/enter dungeons in June

I’m not sure how many people remember Acquire’s fantasy high school/dungeon crawler, but Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono is about to come out. The game has always been slated for June, but now we have an exact release date in Japan, June 26. You start the game by making a party of six characters from various races. You have staples like humans, dwarves, elves, fairies, and gnomes to choose from. But why pick something usual when Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono has exotic races like the Felpurr (half-cats), Celestia (angels), Diablos (half-demons), and Dahamoon (half-bats? They have bat wings!).

Once your six party members are grouped you’re ready to fight 400 monsters and take on 80 quests, in Japanese. At this time Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono (loosely: Swords, Sorcery and School Stuff) is only scheduled for Japan. Considering how we missed out on Acquire’s excellent Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida I wouldn’t except this to get localized. However, compared to Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida there seems to be more of a market for PSP dungeon games overseas. I mean at least Xseed is releasing them. No one is touching Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida probably because it would be a value game in North America. It’s really short, but really sweet. Somewhat import friendly too, if you don’t mind missing out on the humor.
