Before working on the much anticipated Hyper Light Drifter, Beau Blyth (aka Teknopants) released the fast-paced Bushido brawler Samurai Gunn for Windows. He has now updated it with new content and also released it for Mac.

“Over the past year, my teammates and I at Heart Machine have been working nonstop on Hyper Light Drifter—but I’ve been using my off time to continue improving Samurai Gunn!,” writes Blyth. “All those extra late nights and weekends of hard work have now come together into a huge (and free!) Samurai Gunn update!”

The update contains 11 new levels, more visual effects, widescreen support, more options, better controller configurations, and secrets to find. It also has two new game modes: “Master of the House” chooses four random levels for you to battle within in succession, while “Showdown Shogun” takes away bullets and extra lives.

If you’re not familiar, Samurai Gunn is designed to be played with two to four players, but it does have a single player mode with bots. Each arena is a single screen, and each fighter has a sword and a gun with three bullets. As deaths come with a single slice of bullet, it’s a game that encourages quick reflexes, mind games, and deadly accuracy.

You can purchase it for $14.99 on its website, the Humble Store, or on Steam.
