Compile Heart announced Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters will feature a Higurashi When They Cry and Team Shanghai Alice character. Additionally, several other characters have been revealed, alongside several gameplay features. Compile Heart revealed a total of five characters for Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters. One character that will appear is Maho (CV: Sayumi Suzushiro), a mobile phone enthusiast who works on surveillance equipment. Another character is Anri (CV: Natsumi Ooshita), who is a calm and composed creator that evacuated the PC continent after a massive incident occurred. Grey Sister, whose voice actress is still unknown, is a mysterious CPU that put the Goddess Nepgear to sleep for two years.

The cross-over characters include a character from Higurashi (CV: Mai Nakahara) that is always on the look-out for cute or distinctive statues or sculptures. The Team Shanghai Alice character (CV: Yua Nagae) is a fairly uncomplicated character who works to make money after her journey was disrupted. The names for the cross-over characters have yet to be revealed. However, it is clear that the Higurashi character that will appear in this title is Rena Ryugu.

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters will release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on April 21, 2022 in Japan.
