There’s a new trailer for the latest Musou entry based on The Legend of Zelda, and this time the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment gameplay footage offers clear looks at the Goron, Rito, and Zora Sages who will fight alongside Zelda and Rauru in the past. It also highlights her teaming up with people for different types of attacks.
As part of this reveal, Nintendo completely announced the new Goron, Rito, and Zora Sages characters who will fight alongside Zelda as characters in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and showed them wearing their distinctive helmets. The video begins with looks at the King and Queen of Hyrule, Rauru and Sonia, and Zelda. From there, we see in-game footage interspersed with commentary on the coming war. At about the 43 second mark, it seems the Zora Queen Qia appears to attack hordes of enemies with water. At the 47 second mark, the Goron chief Agraston is apparently attacking. It looks like the Rito Sage Raphica shows up at the 50 second mark. In the second half of the video, we start to see Zelda teaming up with some of these masked warriors to fight.
This is the second recent The Legend of Zelda to put Zelda in the role of lead character instead of Link. In September 2024, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomdebuted. It involved the princess using her magic to summon copies of items and enemies to save Hyrule herself.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6, 2025.
