Hyrule Warriors Details On Fi, New Weapons, And What Rupees Do

The sword spirit, Fi, from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, has been revealed as the newest playable character in Hyrule Warriors. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine shares a few more details on her and some of the game’s weapons.

According to the magazine report, Fi moves around with dance-like movements, while gliding around in the air, and transforms into a sword to cut down enemies.

The Ball and Chain weapon you got a glimpse of in the earlier report, that looks like the one Link used in Twilight Princess is one of the new weapons, is used with the Power Gloves, which can also be used to pick up heavy objects to crush enemies.

Additionally, the magazine shows Zelda using the Wind Waker as a weapon, that can be used to bring out strong winds to blow away enemies, along with some electric attacks. It can also be used to call out tornados that can keep enemies in place.

In addition to showing Ghirahim add the Imprisoned, it looks like Hyrule Warriors has some more to do with Skyward Sword, as the magazine shows the Skyloft and Pumpkin Landing.

You can level up characters by defeating enemies in the battlefield, but levels can also be raised with Rupees, and the higher the level is, the more it costs.

By using materials and Rupees, you can make badges that are helpful in combat. The badges with better effects require more Rupees and rare materials to make. While enemies are set to drop the same material for the most part, they can occasionally drop some rare materials, as well.

At the Badge Shop,  it looks like there are branches of badge slots, where you can look at them to see their effects, along with the required materials and amount of Rupees needed to make them.

Hyrule Warriors will be released in Japan this August and September in North America for Wii U.
