If You Like Cave Story And Gradius Check Out A.N.N.E.

A.N.N.E. caught my attention when Matt discovered the Metroidvania-like game at PAX East. The pixilated robots are reminiscent of Cave Story, but what makes A.N.N.E. unique is you can fly around in a spaceship called The Great Whale. While you have guns to shoot enemies, you can also pick up and throw objects at enemies. That’s an interesting twist to the shoot ’em up genre.

A.N.N.E. is in development for PC and maybe Vita, Ouya or Wii U if GamesByMo can raise enough money on Kickstarter. There’s also a page on Steam Greenlight with an extended look at A.N.N.E.
