Fujiwara Toru transfers to Sangu Academy in Kisaragi no Hogyoku, finding their is a tradition at that school called Ren where each student must choose a grade partner. The best group from that year wins the Gemma Februarii, which is a mysterious gem that has strange powers. Candy Box is a side story to that tale, telling a few different tales involving characters from the main storyline.

Kisaragi no Hogyoku was originally released in 2009 on the App Store, and Candy Box was released there as well in 2012. While an English version of Kisaragi no Hogyoku  already existed, developer Otonashi wants to do another translation for the game’s PC release, as well as rework the game’s art should they meet one of their stretch goals. This will also mark Candy Box’s first English release.
