Independent Vtuber Unnamed, also known as U-san, announced they will go on indefinite hiatus for health reasons both in a stream and on social media. Their last planned stream will appear on December 21, 2025, though they also mentioned that any planned collaborations announced prior to that date will happen as planned.
U-san announced during the stream that they suffer from aphonia, and the recent return and onset of it is the reason for the upcoming break. After discussing with a doctor, they determined the best course of action would a pause in activities.
Here is part of the statement in which Unnamed explained what they experienced.
“When I was recording, I noticed that my voice wasn’t going into microphone. So my microphone wasn’t picking up my voice. So I thought it was a technical issue. So I checked the mic connection again and again, restarted my PC, tried everything I could think of. And still it didn’t work. So I clapped my hand like this in front of the microphone. And sound went through. So the equipment was working fine. It was working well. It was me. I didn’t notice that my voice wasn’t coming out. …So I became more aware of this around October [2025], and after that I tried my best to recover because singing is really important to me.”

U-san has been active as a Vtuber since December 2022 and they are best known for their musical performances, though they have appeared in other kinds of streams. One of their most recent performances included a cover of Kenshi Yonezu’s “Iris Out” from Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. Another involved a cover of Kpop Demon Hunters’ “How It’s Done” with Akuma Nihmune and Michi Mochievee.
Unnamed will go on indefinite hiatus on December 21, 2025, and the independent Vtuber’s last confirmed stream is set for that day on YouTube.
