24 is quite popular in Japan. I remember going to Sega’s Joypolis amusement center in Tokyo where there was a 24 video scavenger hunt. Players would take a card and swipe it to see videos and solve a mission. I gave up after the first video to play more House of the Dead 4 Extreme.
This isn’t the only crossover media for a US franchise developed in Japan. Apparently, there is 24 Pachislot machine, and in October a corresponding 24 Pachislot video game for the PlayStation 2. If seeing Jack Bauer’s visage on a slot machine wasn’t strange enough the LCD screen has mini-games with super deformed CTU characters. There is some awesome concept art to check out at Impress Watch too, if you’re a fan of 24. I’m just amused this exists. Good work Paon! You might know them as the developer of Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast and the company with the rights to many Data East franchises.
