In past years Irem set up joke web pages advertising Disaster Report crowbars and R-Type desserts on April Fool’s Day. Today, the Black Irem Dan “took over” the company’s site and replaced it with a text adventure game. The prank is pretty clever since a phony image of Irem’s site appears before redirecting players to the game.

Usually, Irem’s pranks end on their home page, but not this year. The Black Irem Dan are also in Irem’s PlayStation Home space. Visit Irem Plaza and you can get avatar items from the secret society.

This promotion is only on Japan’s servers, but it’s still neat to see a small publisher using their PlayStation Home space in a creative way.
