I’m not much of a sports gamer, but I liked playing Mutant League Football mainly because it’s ridiculous. The premise of the game, if you missed it in the ’90s, is American football with robots, aliens, and a quarterback sized skeleton.

MMichael Mendheim who pitched Mutant League Football to Electronic Arts and more recently producer on Def Jam: Icon filed a US trademark for Mutant Football League. Last month, Mendheim also registered Freak League. These two trademarks suggest Mendheim has plans to create a new series of mutant sports games. The question is will Electronic Arts or another publisher pick up the game or will Mendheim develop Mutant Football League as an indie game?
