Sega is following up Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater, a PlayStation 3 program that streams data from the PSP game with improved graphics, with Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater 2nd (temporary title). It’s slated for release this summer and Hori is making a special controller for it.
While it has more buttons, Hori’s Project Diva controller is built like an arcade controller. The buttons are the same size (100mm) and they flash. Hori’s device weighs 6kg, takes up 690mm x 430mm x 70mm (length x width x depth) of space, and has a three meter cable. Of course, you don’t need a Hatsune Miku controller to play Project Diva Dreamy Theater 2nd, but if you want to bring the arcade experience home this is as close as you’re going to get unless you purchase a cabinet.
The limited edition controller costs 29,939 yen ($361) and works only with a PlayStation 3.
