Aksys picked up Jikandia: The Timeless Land another game that plays with time from the creators of Half-Minute Hero.
Residents of Jikandia were unaware of the concept of time for thousands of years… until monsters wrecked havoc on their world by bearing clocks and wristwatches. Fortunately, for the frightened masses a spirit known as Temtem who has control over time and space summons nine heroes. Al, one of the heroes, finds himself separated from his eight buddies. In Jikandia: The Timeless Land you have to help him find them and free the Timeless Land from time.
Jikandia: The Timeless Land lets players set the length of time to explore a dungeon, which are like platformer levels. The longer you make the level, the greater the chance you’ll have of finding rare items and running into tougher monsters. Magic orbs scattered in levels allow players to customize Al. Story scenes also unlock as you play through the game, perhaps at different intervals.
Opus Studio also made an ad-hoc multiplayer mini-game. Four players can enter the Jikandia Coliseum and fight against each other for the top score.
Aksys has Jikandia: The Timeless Land slated for a spring 2011 release on PSP.
Just in case you didn’t catch on to this, Jikandia: The Timeless Land was our puzzlenouncement. "Eleanor Dark" was a reference to an Australian author famous for writing a novel called "The Timeless Land." The pixel blurring was a clue that the game was from Aksys. Remember their Record of Agarest War campaign?
