Izumo Tourism Campaign Will Star Shaman King

The city of Izumo is collaborating with Shaman King on a “Mera Tabi in the Country of Gods, Izumo” tourism campaign. It’ll run from July 20 to August 31, 2023. Hiroyuki Takei, the mangaka of Shaman King, has drawn illustrations of the Shaman King characters in summer outfits, along with art of three priestesses exclusive to the Izumo campaign.

Aside from stores in Izumo selling limited goods featuring the characters in their summer outfits, there are several promotions that require travel to the city. The first is a stamp rally in which  you visit places that showed up in Shaman King. If you collect stamps from three of the seven, then you’ll be able to get a sticker of the three priestesses art. Places include Big Heart Izumo and the Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo.

There is also a bus tour that’ll take you to all the places on the stamp rally. It’ll take two days. The tour also includes collaboration food items based on Shaman King, and will give all of the participants replicas of key frames from the Shaman King remake anime. If you want to look at the art from the show without spending two days on tour, you can also visit the exhibition at Big Heart Izumo. Tickets cost 1500 JPY if you pre-order and 1800 JPY at the door. There’ll be around 300 pieces of art from the show at the exhibition.

The Shaman King Izumo tourism campaign will run until August 31, 2023. You can watch the Shaman King remake anime on Netflix.
