Japanese Nintendo Switch Online Players Can Try Out Fire Emblem Warriors For Free Starting January 20

Nintendo has announced that Fire Emblem Warriors is the next game to join the free trials program for Nintendo Switch Online. The game will be fully available to download and play during the period of January 20 to January 26, 2020. That said, you’ll need access to the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online eShop to do so.

For those unfamiliar with Fire Emblem Warriors, it’s a hack-and-slash Warriors spinoff title that incorporates several Fire Emblem key elements like the weapon triangle, a map system where you can order units around more easily, and the Pair-Up system that makes things more fun and strategic.

There are no limitations to how much of the game you can play during the period – you can even beat the game if you want. The save data from the free trial version can also be carried over to the full game, so if you like the game during free trial, you can continue immediately from where you left off.

Here are the specific start and end times below:

January 20, 2020 at 12pm JST to January 26, 2020 at 6pm JST.

(January 19, 2020 at 7pm PT to January 26, 2020 at 1am PT)

Finally, during the free trial period, Nintendo will hold a 40% off sale for the JP eShop version of Fire Emblem Warriors. The DLC Pack bundle will also be 40% off.

Nintendo have done these sorts of free trials both in the West and Japan before. Back in August, Western players got to try out Mario Tennis Aces for a week in much the same way, while Japanese players got a free trial of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

Fire Emblem Warriors is available on Nintendo Switch.
