Jet Impulse (DS Air) looks fantastic

Nintendo is about to release a flight game on the DS that has nothing to do with Star Fox. It’s called Jet Impulse in Japan (tentatively named DS Air) for North America. It’s a dog fighting game with twenty fighter jets and sixty different weapons. Each level begins with a mission briefing then you’re off to shoot down other fighter jets. The action takes place on the top screen and the bottom screen has the HUD with info like your plane’s HP. On the HUD you can select targets to lock on to by tapping them. Jet Impulse has something else going for it too, worldwide online play via Nintendo WiFi. Nintendo hasn’t given the game a concrete release date in North America, but its on the schedule with TBA. If Japan is getting it on February 8, it’s likely we will see Jet Impulse before the summer.
