Kaga Create, the company known for having published titles such as Higurashi When They Cry, Saki: The Nationals, and various visual novel titles announced that they’ve shut down on December 31, 2015.

According to the company, the reason for closing is due to the lack of profit in today’s game market that is centered around smartphone applications, which led to their eventual closure.

Since the founding of Kaga Electronics’ video game division back in 1988 under the name “Naxat,” the company released games for PC Engine, followed by titles for Game Boy, Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and more as part of the video game developing and publishing division of the parent company
