Yoshifumi Hashimoto told Siliconera Marvelous was working on a game with 2D artwork that takes full advantage of the Nintendo 3DS. No, it’s not a Muramasa remake. I think Hashimoto was referring to Kagura: Portrait of Girls.
Featured in this week’s issue of Famitsu, Kagura is a side-scrolling ninja game for the Nintendo 3DS. The magazine reports the main character is sexy kunoichi.
Details that leaked out so far… are about the game’s costume damage system. The main character’s (I’m guessing this is Kagura) clothes get torn when she takes damage. Kaugra has an unprecedented amount of boobage and butt flashes for a video game, which is buzzing around message boards.
I imagine Kagura may have more substance than it seems since Yukinori Kitazima is the scenario writer. Kitazima also created the story for 428, Okamiden, Chaos Rings, and Capcom’s mysterious 3DS game Nazo Waku Yakata. Nan Yaegashi is the character designer.
Update: For more details on Kagura: Portrait of Girls, check out this post. The game is being handled by Kenichiro Takaki, director of Marvelous’ Ikki Tousen titles, so we now know for sure this is a separate game from the one Hashimoto is working on.
