The Kagurabachi manga will have a longer hiatus that starts from the 31st issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on June 29, 2026. The manga magazine’s editor team published the announcement on the franchise’s Japanese official social media account, while projecting August 2026 as an approximate window for the manga’s return.
In the announcement, the team noted that Takeru Hokazono, the manga’s author, had confirmed his intention to continue drawing the manga. But in order to be able to deliver new chapters at a more stable pace, he asked to take a longer period of rest.
This is not the first time the Kagurabachi manga has had a hiatus. Takeru Hokazono previously took a break for health reasons a year prior, in June 2025. However, the previous hiatus lasted for just a short while, as the manga was only absent in the 29th issue that came out on June 16, 2025. The new hiatus period means that there will be no new Kagurabachi chapters appearing in July 2026.
Kagurabachi is also set to have an anime adaptation launching in 2027. Shueisha will hold a world tour to promote the anime, starting with Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 3, 2026. The tour will continue to Japan Expo Paris in France on July 9, 2026, AnimagiC in Mannheim, Germany, on August 1, 2026, and Anime NYC in New York on August 22, 2026.
The Kagurabachi manga is expected to return in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine around August 2026.
