Dragon’s Dogma has three basic classes – fighters, strider (totally unrelated to the arcade game), and mage. Fighters, as you would expect, slash first and ask questions later. This class has skills like smiting an enemy with their shield and a spin slash. Striders can tie enemies up with steel wire and rain arrows on monsters.
Mages have magic spells like flame wall and healing spot which recovers HP for friendly units.
They can also float. Casting floating reduces gravity around the user, which allows them to reach areas they wouldn’t be able to get to otherwise Judging by these screenshots it looks like Capcom plans on hiding items in high places. I suppose floating can be useful in battles too for players that want to find a spell sniping spot.
Dragon’s Dogma comes out on March 27 in North America.
