King of Fighters for Girls Shut Down

The official Japanese Twitter account for King of Fighters for Girls has announced that the game will officially shut down on March 31, 2021. Similarly, the game’s servers will go under maintenance on March 10, 2021 at 11:00 JST, after which players will no longer be able to purchase in-game paid currency.

Additionally, starting from April 1, 2021 at 14:00 JST, players will be able to apply for refunds for unused paid currency. Refund applications will close on May 31, 2021. Further details regarding applications are scheduled to come at a later date. However, players will be ineligible for refunds if they delete the app after April 1, 2021, or if they forget their account name or password. Specific details and dates are all listed on the game’s official announcement page.

King of Fighters for Girls is a mobile otome dating sim set in the King of Fighters universe. You play as a young woman who works as a tournament manager, and interact with notable characters from the franchise. The game released in Japan on November 8, 2019, and has never been localized outside of Japan. However, with the game closing its shutters in less than a month, it’s likely that we won’t be getting one.

The King of Fighters XIV Ultimate Edition was announced for PS4 back in January, 2021, and its sequel The King of Fighters XV will launch in 2021.
