Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Updates Include Final Dark Road Chapter

Square Enix shared details on what people can expect from the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary celebrations. Long awaited updates are coming to Kingdom Hearts Union χ Dark Road, to close out Dark Road‘s story with a final chapter and offer a theater mode. There will also be Switch ports of mainline games. More Kingdom Hearts merchandise and an event are coming as well.

First, the Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] theater mode is now available. This lets people see the mobile game’s entire story. It is an offline feature, so you don’t need an internet connection after downloading the update.

The Kingdom Hearts Union χ Dark Road final chapter is also finally on the way. The anniversary video confirmed it will appear “this winter.” It also showed some scenes from the end of the story that involved characters like Xehanort, Eraqus, and Maleficent.

As for the Kingdom Hearts Switch ports, those came up in the final SSBU presentation. Cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 are on the way to the system. They will appear as an all-in-one bundle

The Kingdom Hearts merchandise shown involved some high-end items. A chess set and luggage both appeared in the announcement video.
