The Kingdom Hearts: Union x 5.0.0 update finally has a release window. The Kingdom Hearts Dark Road final chapter will arrive in August 2022. There’s also a new trailer that offers a peek at what characters like Xehanort and Eraqus will experience in this part of the story.
The 20th anniversary announcement trailer actually kicked off with a look at the Kingdom Hearts Dark Road final chapter. First, we see the version of Xehanort we’re familiar with consulting with the Magic Mirror. After that, the flashback kicks in. It is then that we see Xehanort and Eraqus when they were younger and friends. Odin, the Keyblade Master who instructed Xehanort, showed up. So do other Scala ad Caelum characters like Hermod, Urd, Vor, Baldr, and Bragi. The video reveals hints about Xehanort’s motivations.
This comes after multiple Kingdom Hearts Dark Road delays. It was supposed to launch in Winter 2021. Instead, Square Enix noted it needed more time to develop. That’s when it got a general 2022 launch window. Now it is pinned down further.
Kingdom Hearts: Union x Dark Road is available on mobile devices. The 5.0.0 update for it will arrive in August 2022. The next mobile game in the series will be Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link.
