Kirby and the Forgotten Land Soundtrack Will Have Two Versions

HAL Laboratory has opened pre-orders for physical soundtrack albums of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The development studio behind the game revealed the soundtracks right on its second anniversary day, as it appeared on Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022.

The Kirby and the Forgotten Land soundtrack will be available in two versions. The Complete Soundtrack will include all of the game’s BGMs and movie dialogues, as the title suggests. The package will have a 40-page booklet and four CDs containing a total of 115 tracks, and the last entry will be a Japanese version of the game’s theme song “Welcome to the New World!”

The Complete Soundtrack will also have a photo frame that contains a music box playing a short version of the theme song. HAL Laboratory will also provide five swappable photo cards taken from the game. The large package will have an all-in price tag of 14,880 yen (~$98), which includes tax and shipping, but it will be only available until May 7, 2024, or when the company has reached its production limit, whichever comes first.

HAL Laboratory will also release a smaller Sound Selection album that will be more widely available. The company will only put 33 tracks into a single CD with a 6-page booklet. But unlike the above complete pack, it will continue to produce this album for the foreseeable future. This one will be available for 2,420 yen (~$16) with an extra domestic shipment cost of 700 yen if people place their pre-orders on the ValueMall site.

The Kirby and the Forgotten Land video game is readily available worldwide on Nintendo Switch. The title is alternatively known in Japan as Kirby of the Stars: Discovery. The game’s soundtrack will be formally available in Japan on September 13, 2024, but HAL Laboratory will ship the albums one day earlier to those who have placed pre-orders by August 18, 2024.
