Koei Tecmo put out an announcement about how it will not accept Valentine’s Day and White Day gifts this year either. As per usual, it cites safety concerns and difficulties handling them as reasons for this restriction.
The statement opens with Koei Tecmo thanking fans for how they usually send gifts to the staff or characters who appear in the games. However, likely due to the sheer number of gifts they would receive for special holidays, it will not be accepting any Valentine’s Day or White Day gifts. As mentioned earlier, this is for safety concerns and difficulties with processing them. For the latter, they would have to have someone or a group of people handling or organizing them, which would take away time from their everyday duties.
Last year, Koei Tecmo put out the same reminder. It used to accept gifts for characters in the past until 2021. That was when lockdowns occurred, and the COVID-19 pandemic caused Koei Tecmo (as well as many other companies) to place restrictions on things it allowed fans or events it would hold. Since 2021, Koei Tecmo has not yet once lifted this ban.
It’s unclear if Koei Tecmo will accept Valentine’s Day and White Day gifts in 2027.
