KOF XV Delayed Until Next Year

Since The King of Fighters XV’s announcement, SNK stated it would appear in 2021. However, that won’t be happening. KOF XV ended up delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The new release window is now the first quarter of 2022.

Here is the official statement regarding the KOF XV delay from Producer Yasuyuki Oda. It noted that the pandemic caused development issues leading up to the delay.

There are many fans who are anticipating the release of KOF XV in 2021, however at this point in time, we unfortunately have to announce that KOF XV will now be launching within the 1st quarter of 2022.

The development timeline we set out to reach in the beginning has been affected by the ever-still rising cases of COVID-19 within Japan. We have made the ultimate decision in the end that the product’s quality must come first, and so with that decision comes an altered release window.

We sincerely ask for your kind patience and understanding as our development teams continue to work hard on KOF XV as we draw closer to its release.

While the game’s delayed, SNK still released frequent updates on it. For example, Blue Mary’s trailer appeared at the end of May 2021.

The King of Fighters XV is in development for unspecified platforms. Due to KOF XV being delayed, it will now launch in Q1 2022.
