Konami makes kid friendly DDR packs

Now in gyms, schools and in millions of homes Dance Dance Revolution is everywhere. It may appear that DDR has already saturated as much of the market as a dancing game can, but Konami has a new audience in mind, young children. Console versions of DDR require the obvious purchase of a console and a dance mat which can be an expensive package for a parent of an elementary school child. For this specific niche audience Konami has mats that plug in directly to your TV priced at $29.99 coming out this Winter. With releases like My First Dance Dance Revolution, Disney Mix and Dance Dance Revolution: Strawberry Shortcake these clearly aren’t for the hardcore audience. See a preview of all three plug and play DDR games past the break.

My First Dance Dance Revolution has 19 songs, five characters and four mini games to play. There is one bonus song to unlock, but don’t expect it to be anything difficult like MAX 300.

Dance Dance Revolution: Disney Mix is a graphically downgraded version of the rare PS1 game, DDR: Disney Mix. Disney Mix includes remakes of Disney songs like “It’s A Small World”, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” and “Mickey Mouse March”. If this sticks to the same difficulty as the PS1 and arcade versions it is bound to be the hardest mix in the bunch.

Dance Dance Revolution: Strawberry Shortcake brings characters and songs from the Strawberry Shortcake world into a DDR game. One of the features of the Strawberry Shortcake home game is that the game is strawberry scented. Best version of DDR ever!
