Arc System Works has updated the official website for Kowloon Youma Gakuenki: Origin of Adventure with info on the game’s story and characters. The game is a HD remaster of the PlayStation 2 classic visual novel and RPG hybrid.
The game is described as a ‘juvenile adventure’ that is coming back with HD graphics and full voice acting, based on the original version of the game that released on PS2 (and not the updated re-release, Re:Charge). This includes the entire main story, including the popular Christmas confession scenes. Meanwhile, the ‘Emotion Input’ system and ‘AP Turn Battle’ system will stay the same as it has always been.
The visual novel sections focused on the lively and mysterious characters are fully-voiced this time around.
The ‘Emotion Input’ system lets you react to others with nine different types of emotions – love, happiness, heated, friendly, sad, worried, cold, angry, or you can ignore them. Depending on the other person’s reaction, how much they like you, and other stats, the conversation might take a different turn each time around.

Koutarou Minamori (CV: Kenji Hamada)
A classmate who’s always got an aroma pipe in his mouth. He’s got great reflexes but hasn’t joined any clubs, and prefers being alone. He’s always at the infirmary or on the roof, so he skips many classes. He likes curry.
Asuka Yachie (CV: Ayano Imaizumi)
A girl also in the protagonist’s 3-C class. She’s the ace of the tennis club. She’s always energetic, full of curiosity, and helps others out. She treats the protagonist, who’s a transfer student, warmly.
Kasuka Shiraki (CV: Mai Nagasako)
A mysterious beauty who wears chains under her school uniform. Because of her aura of mystery that makes people keep their distance, what she’s like is shrouded in a veil of mystery. She throws words and riddles at the protagonist.
Tsukumi Nanase (CV: Yuki Masuda)
A Class 3-A student who’s also the student librarian. She takes care of the books on campus. Her habit is to reference old sayings. She’s serious and mature, but gets excited when talking about ancient civilizations and occult stuff.
Ayuko Hinagawa (CV: Yui Horie)
The language teacher in charge of the protagonist’s Class 3-C. Her beautiful looks have made her very popular with the students. Although she’s kind and gentle, she has problems with school operations, which are led by the student council.
Finally, a ‘Reawakened Treasure Edition’ has been announced, and will include a smartphone stand figure featuring Koutarou Minamori, a new drama CD, and an artbook.
