Langrisser was announced last year by Chinese company ZLonGame as a mobile spinoff to the franchise. It brings back characters from across the series, but will also have an original story. After the closed beta back in January 2018, the game is heading into open beta on July 6 in China. [Thanks, Bahamut!]
The game will feature the Langrisser series’ classic troop combat, and an original story that brings together characters from all five numbered games. Players will reenact classic major battles from the main games, alongside original stages, for up to over 300 stages total.
The game will also have character progression, and characters are fully voiced, and animated in the game via Live2D technology. You can also unlock special stages for each character after improving your relationship with the characters. The open beta also adds a wardrobe function to show off special skins for the characters, some of which are unlocked by promoting characters.
Apart from music from the original games, Langrisser Mobile will have new tracks composed by series composer Noriyuki Iwadare as well.
