Bandai Namco has posted its second Code Vein Behind the Scenes video. In this installment, Producer Keita Iizuka, Director Hiroshi Yoshimura, Associate Director and Contect Director Yuta Yamamoto, and Associate Director and Action Director Yuichi Yoda talk about the partner NPCs who will join players as they fight against the Lost and attempt to survive as Revenants who need to constantly find blood to survive. Specifically, the over three minute segment goes over how the development team came up with the ideas of partners and how they help players survive.
The video begins by talking about how the idea of Code Vein partners came up. The goal was to create an AI character who seemed like they were “paying attention” to the player. The idea is that they would be a critical part of the experience and feel like they would help, rather than hinder, people as they fought against enemies. They are designed to be supporters who take care of themselves.
