Both games will receive performance upgrades in the form of resolution and frame rate enhancements, alongside HDR support to improve the visuals and enhance the onscreen colors. The Switch 2 enhancements also include support through Zelda Notes. This will be accessed through the Nintendo Switch App and provides GPS-like voice guidance to shrines and missed korok seed locations, QR Codes for creations in Tears of the Kingdom, and a photo studio for ingame screenshots.

The games receiving upgrades for the Nintendo Switch 2, like Mario Party Jamboree, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends Z-A will require a paid upgrade to access the new Switch 2 exclusive features if players already own the games for the original Nintendo Switch. It is not currently known how much it will cost.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Editions will receive both physical and digital versions for the Nintendo Switch 2 after the console releases.
