To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Slayers, Kadokawa will release a Slayers ASMR video on Mimicle. Lina will whisper spells into your ear, and fans can vote for which spells they want to hear from her. [Thanks, PR Times!]
The recording will use binaural mics, which will add to immersion. You’ll actually feel like Lina is standing next to you and whispering into your ears, according to the press release from Kadokawa. Aside from hearing Lina say spells like Fireball and Ragna Blade, you’ll also be able to hear her breathing. The video is marketed as sleep-learning material from Lina for aspiring sorcerers and sorceresses. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that listeners will actually be able to use any magic after they listen to it.
The full list of spells she’ll say isn’t available, but fans will have a bit of control over the script. From December 5 to 31, 2025, you’ll also be able to cast your votes on Mimicle for what spells you want to hear from Lina. To vote, you’ll need a Mimicle account.
Megumi Hayashibara, who voices Lina in the Japanese dub of Slayers, will reprise her role for ASMR. Hayashibara is a prominent voice actress who started working in the late 1980s, with many famous roles over the years. A small sample of her filmography (aside from Slayers) includes Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ai Haibara/Shiho Miyano from Detective Conan, Musashi/Jessie from Pokemon, Faye from Cowboy Bebop, Anna from Shaman King, and Saihara from Danganronpa V3.
The Slayers ASMR video will come out in January 2026, and it’ll cost 1650 JPY ($10.65). It’ll be available on Mimicle.
