Dick Tracey and Mr. Magoo games look for a publisher

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

Flashman Studios (stupid joke alert: Flashback Studios) acquired the rights to a number of classic TV shows. They have a Dick Tracey game in the pipeline for the DS and Wii made by Codeglue, a Netherlands developer who is working on Worms World Party. The near-sighted Mr. Magoo is getting a video game, based on a straight to DVD movie Kung Fu Magoo. Like the Dick Tracey title, the Mr. Magoo game is also slated for Nintendo platforms. Flashman Studios also scooped the rights up for a Lone Ranger project and a turn-based grid game with figures from Heroclix. In the distant future Flashman Studios is also planning a Rocky & Bullwinkle for “all platforms coinciding with a Dreamworks movie due in 2010.”

The only problem is these (potential?)games are in dire need of a publisher. Will any company bring a film noir style Dick Tracey adventure game to store shelves? Or are these franchises way too outdated compared to hot properties like Heroes and Harvey Birdman? Let me ask a better question, will you buy a game with a nearly blind man as a kung fu action hero?
