Lost and Found: Global A’s “Japanese harem sim”

ohokuki.jpgI believe that’s what Ashcraft called Ohokuki in his snappy title, but I doubt Global A is trying to market it with that tag line! Perhaps, they will coin the title as a female feudal adventure game. Marketing aside, the plot remains the same. Players try to ascend to the top of the clan’s female pecking order by spying on the fellow ladies and disguising yourself as a docile member of the pack.

Global A Entertainment, the same company who brings us the respectable Chronicles of Dungeon Maker series, announced this game nearly two years ago as a PlayStation 2 title. Quickly after news about Ohokuki faded and it drifted out of memory. I thought it would be canned from the beginning and after a lack of news it seemed like this was the case. However, Global A is releasing Ohokuki and it will be a PlayStation 2 game when it comes out this spring in Japan. While this is far from my cup of green tea, Ohokuki has a unique scenario; Ohokuki is essentially a playable Jidaigeki soap opera.
